Brev till barnen i Ramallah och Brummana

Fredskommittén har skickat hälsningar till barnen på skolan i Ramallah i Palestina och till barnen på skolan i Brummana i Libanon. Här kan du läsa hälsningen och svaren som vi har fått.

Från Brummana skolans rektor Mr. David Gray:
Dear Anton, Sjoerd, Maria, Håkan and Sharon,Thank you so much for your greetings to the children and young people at Brummana High School, where we continue to resist the conflict going on around us through peaceful practices at school.  Brummana High School is a beacon of light. As a Quaker establishment in Lebanon, we practise the values of respect, tolerance, equality, peaceful resolution and environmental stewardship which are values instilled in all the children who grow up here and graduate as 18-year-olds to go out into the world.  During a time of war, school is a haven of normality, where peaceful practices of hard work, of constructive purpose and of social interaction, provide reassuring routines in an otherwise fractured world. We do appreciate your gesture and your interest from far away Sweden.  This will give us hope and courage to continue in our mission in the future.
